The Bible tells us that when the time comes for the Lord Jesus Christ to come back, men’s hearts will be failing them for fear: Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. No one can deny that we are seeing times such as these the Bible speaks of coming upon the world.
People’s hearts are truly failing for fear. Heart attacks are the number one killer of people. There is excessive stress in every level of life because of suddenly growing from a community life to a world community outlook. Business is competed for on a world level now. Jobs are even competed for on a world level. You used to hear mostly local news and world news was only when it affected you. Now the entire world is in every persons living room with live coverage and often times showing terrifying events.
Every opinion, spin, private agenda and political hype is broadcast into everyone’s living room and each one is delivered as if it were the truth. Which one of the old detective movies on TV used the phrase “Only the truth ma’am, only the truth”. Every news correspondent used to be governed by honesty in reporting. They tried to leave their personal political views out of the news because they were serving every citizen with a sincerity that seemed to approach a doctors Hippocratic oath. Now one of the first questions you ask when you hear something is “who reported it”?
The news you hear is filled with the agendas of the government or political party they are affiliated with. The entire world now lives on the edge of total calamity from WMD’s, biological or nuclear threats and government overthrows from without and within. Even we in America live day to day with national security levels broadcast into our homes. It is a time of people’s hearts failing them for fear.
There is distress of nations (Luke 21:25). The world is embracing socialism like a mother embracing the child she loves (A favorite expression of mine). People do not want freedom. People want their government to take care of them and tell them what is good and bad for them. People want a government that can guarantee them health and happiness. People want a government that can guarantee them financial security.
People are killing themselves with stress trying to live up to a social standard that leaves them empty and wanting more and is unachievable for most. For those who finally reach a level of financial security, they live in fear of someone taking it away from them.
Socialism has grown to the point that it is no longer thought of as bad. It is thought of with such terms as big government, left wing thinking, new age thinking, liberal acceptance, world thinking, Progressive, New Democrat and other terms too many to list. The UN has embraced with total acceptance nations with socialist ideology’s, nations under totalitarian regimes, nations under complete religious oppression, and uses these nations in its ruling circle. The UN has placed nations with atrocious human rights records over human rights (Libya). There is truly distress of nations on a worldwide scale and no one is immune from being affected.
The UN Security Council has shown that is can be bought off. The UN is a corrupt body with corrupt agendas. The UN is truly a raging beast and is out of control but no one wants to admit that it has failed. It is being consumed in its own corruption. We see a perfect example of this in the scandal that is getting larger every day over the Iraq food for oil program. It is no wonder they did not want America going into Iraq. They did not want their corruption to be found out.
The entire world is now focused on the Middle East and Israel. Every day there are more nations added to the list of those who hate Israel. Virtually all of the terrorism in the world is directed against Israel or those who support Israel. The terrorist activities in every nation are because this hate machine is trying to get Israel’s allies to turn away from Israel or they are trying to get nations to drop their support of America and isolate America and Israel. There is actually open support for the Palestinian terrorist even though they are violent and cruel and their hatred is beyond the capacity of understanding. This suport for the Palestinian’s is even coming from the Democrat party.
One example is the recent assassination of the so-called Hamas religious leader by Israel. His hatred led him for many decades to direct cruelties and destruction from the safety of his wheelchair. He was a violent and militant director of murder. He has sent unknown numbers of young people to destroy themselves to try to satisfy his hatred. He has openly declared that he would never be satisfied until Israel was totally consumed and driven into the sea. I heard on the news how he had directed people to take Israeli children and blind them by drilling into their eyes with a drill. He had his own brother put into an open grave and told someone to kill him because he had had something to do with a Jew.
This hatred should not be endorsed or fed by anyone who is a reasoning person, especially the media under the pretense of being fair and balanced. This hatred of the Jew is approaching a feverish pitch all over the world as more and more people in every nation blame the world’s ills on the Jew. The Bible talks about this, saying that every nation would turn against Israel. This is clearly one of the strongest signs of the times that we are living in. Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
I suppose that most people, especially in America thought that after the holocaust, the severe unrelenting and unreasonable hatred that drove the fires of the holocaust would have been extinguished but now we see that many will not even believe it happened even though the evidence is everywhere and there are many alive today who witnessed it. The Bible tells us it will get worse though.
Jesus told us that there has never been a time on the face of the earth like the time of “Great Tribulation” that is coming. Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. The book of Ezekiel speaks a lot about this these times in chapters 37-39.
All over the world people are embracing ungodliness and turning away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I remember when I went to Germany a couple of years ago. I have seen a lot of sickening things in my life, but nothing prepared me for what I saw when I walked through customs. It was not an isolated case. Everywhere I looked men were hugging and kissing men openly and in a lovers embrace. Women were doing the same with other women. As you walked through the streets, these actions were openly evident and there was no shame in their actions.
The atmosphere you see in public acceptance of this lifestyle is like that of the nations that rejected God in Romans, chapter one. See my article on “Homosexuality”. The worlds nations are rejecting the glory of God and giving it to likenesses of men, birds, four-footed beast and creeping things. See my article, “Is America Reprobate”. The entire world is riding this carnival ride to hell and laughing as they go.
America is joining this Sodomite love fest with growing zeal. The new standard by the political left for determining intelligence is how readily someone accepts radical change and untried ideas. This is a clear trend to get people to accept socialism and sodomy as viable lifestyles. It is possible that the antichrist himself is going to be a sodomite: Dan 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
More and more nations are deciding that the war on drugs is an unstoppable evil and have instead made the decision to turn a blind eye to it, thinking I suppose, that ignoring it will make it not as bad. I call this the Ostrich effect (Hide your head in the sand). The Bible speaks expressly about this also.
The Bible gives us warnings about the works of the flesh and how the love for these things will keep you from accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. The word used in Gal. 5:20 for witchcraft is the Greek word “pharmakeia” from which we get our word pharmacy. It relates to drugs. The word for sorcerers (Rev 21:8) is “pharmakeus” and also relates to spell giving potions (drugs). The world is going crazy about drugs while law enforcement officials and governments pretend that they are fighting drugs.
Governments even use drugs to keep their people under their thumbs. Some countries give free syringes to people under the pretext that it will reduce disease. Tyrants in Africa even use drugs to get their fighters hyped up so they will fight with intensity and drug induced bravery. We know the pain and suffering that drugs cause and we know the exact location of drug lords who are building their kingdoms of wealth and power by destroying peoples lives with drugs and we have the power to destroy these drug lords and we do not. We let them continue and act like we are trying to stop the unstoppable on our streets.
We watch as families are destroyed and lives are unraveled by these drugs. We sit by and allow slick lawyers to get these people back on the streets to ply their ungodly wicked trade by finding loopholes and using deceitful tactics to beat the law. From growing drugs to selling drugs to defending the perpetrators, we find that large amounts of money are made on every level of drug traffic.
The lawyer who uses deceits and trickery to get a drug dealer back on the streets is as guilty as the drug lord who grows them. The law enforcement officials who allow a crack house to continue in operation when just about everyone in any given town knows where these places of drug trafficking are is just as inexcusable in their responsibilities.
There are countless babies born with drug addictions every year and yet America’s social services operate as a joke. They have to call and let people know they are making an in home visit. This gives people time to get rid of the drugs and gives shiftless fathers who want to live on welfare time to get out. We are trapped in a drug and welfare nightmare of our own making. European nations are so infected with drugs and crime that going out at night is to take your life in your own hands. It is getting more and more like this in the United States.
Crime rings and gangs rule the night in almost every nation in the world. There is truly a great falling away from the Gospel in the world. Our churches have became social centers. Filling our pulpits with preachers has turned into a “You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” scenario with certain preachers trading with each other. A good message is now considered one where everyone shakes your hand and the Pastor invites you back. Our altars no longer have tissue boxes around them where people can weep and confess their sins on an altar of brokenness.
The preacher is not worth his salt if he cannot get everyone out in time to make it to the restaurant before the crowds hit. Our churches have become filled with people who have “itching ears” as spoken of in the Bible (2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; :4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. ) The man of God who weeps, prays, and seeks God for theirs and the peoples sins will not get in these pulpits because they may prove embarrassing for someone’s ministry. In the meanwhile, drugs and alcohol are destroying our homes, our children and our nation.
 The world is embracing with fervor one of the most dangerous and violent religions on the face of the earth. The god of Islam and the God of Christianity are not same. Nation after nation is turning to Islam. In 1974, there was only one mosque in France. Today there are over 1700. There are now more than 1750 mosque in the United States. violence as a means to gain their goals, which is a world converted to Islam. Islam teaches that if you are not Islam, you are lower than a dog (pig) and it is not against Islamic law to kill you.
Islam teaches brotherly love but it also teaches that their brothers are only other Muslims. If you are not Muslim, you are an infidel (unbeliever) and do not have a right to live outside of their kindness. You have no rights and no voice in their courts. A Muslims word against an infidel is enough to convict the infidel of any crime no matter how serious.
If you are an infidel (non-Muslim), you cannot charge a Muslim with a crime. You are subhuman. There are one hundred names for their god and not one of them is love. There is nothing in Islam that teaches a personal relationship with their god. There is no teaching of mercy, redemption, or godliness.
Their hope of paradise lies totally in their ability to obey the Koran and then there is no guarantee of paradise. Their god may or may not let them in. It is totally at his discretion no matter what they do. They gain points toward paradise by dying in Jihad (holy war). To them, it is the one guaranteed entrance to paradise.
Their most holy site (Mecca) is built on the same place where the ancient moon god Allah (From Al-ilah in Arabic) was worshipped with human sacrifices and was around a long time before Muhammad. Another name for the moon god was Bel. He is the one that had arms of brass where babies were slid down his red hot arms into consuming flames. Here is another good link.
There are actually 360 gods worshipped in the worship of the moon god but the chief god is the moon god. Mecca was built to worship the moon god. There are 360 windows around Mecca with a statue at each window. The moon god has been worshipped by many peoples by different names. One of the moon gods daughters was called Istar (Do you know about Ishtar? Paul had dealings with her followers in the new testament). It is amazing that their religion is full of references and symbols to the moon.
The crescent moon is the oldest and most used symbol of the moon god. Islam is a perfect magnet to anyone who wants a semblance of religion but wants to justify deep hatred. It is a magnet to those who want to use violence as a means to an end and feel like they are pleasing their god by doing it. Islam is a religion that draws those who want an excuse for hating and killing anyone that is not like them. Worship of the moon god was forbidden by God in the Bible and it is paganism in the extreme.
Those people who turn to this religion are absolutely damning their eternal soul if they follow this false god to their death. Instead of crying out about the falsehood of this heretical religion, I see kids playing with cloths over their heads and public schools requiring that students study the Koran. America is playing with fire and does not even know it because Americans are willing to step to the precipice of destruction to be able to say they are accommodating to others, unless those others are conservative and, or Christian.
There are ever more and increasingly dangerous earthquakes, diseases (pestilence’s) and famines coming on the world scene. Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. We see earthquakes that are destroying unbelievable numbers of people worldwide and people watch it with a casual observance. We might make a comment like “that is terrible”, but that is usually the maximum amount of concern we have because of the world community attitude.
It isn’t personal because the entire world has been condensed into a small box with a screen. Earthquakes are beginning to happen in places where there has been no known earthquakes in times past and they are happening with major seismic magnitude. There are diseases that the world has never seen before on the rise. AIDs is at massive epidemic proportions in many nations and do they turn to God? No.
You see these people asking how could a loving God allow such things. It is almost to the point of shaking their fist at heaven in defiance of God himself. AID’s is a disease that has been spread mainly through ungodliness by perverted sexual practices, sexual activity outside of marriage, and illicit drug use. The curse of Aids was that it did not have to happen on such a large scale. Godly living would have prevented this cursed disease from taking hold in the world.
Now it has reached the point where it is affecting innocent lives and precious unborn babies in the womb. I have preached a message (I don’t know who used that theme first) entitled “Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you far more than you want to pay”. AID’s is a prime example of this truth.
Those who contracted it through sin (Illicit sex or drugs) did not think a little sin would take them so far, neither did they think it would keep them so long or cost them so much. They never dreamed that their ungodly ways would affect innocent lives but that is the way leaven works and sin is likened to leaven in the Bible. It spreads to everything around it.
The thing about sin is that God will forgive it readily but there are always consequences to sin that affects our own lives and the lives of others. I knew a young man when I was chaplain in a jail system once who raped a small girl. It was quite a severe crime and the rape was quite brutal. To keep it short, the young man got miraculously saved in jail. I stressed to him that God is quick to forgive us our sins but there are consequences to our sin that with rare exceptions cannot be averted. The young man got several life sentences but He went to serve them with the light of Christ on his face. It is a pity that the sin was not averted before it happened. I only pray that God in his mercy worked a great healing in the young girls life.
That is the way with sin. It is a destroyer. The Bible also talks about famines before the Lord comes back. There are famines that have wiped out peoples of the world with seemingly cruel intent. Drought has devastated masses of land almost on a continental scale. You would think professing believers everywhere would be praying and seeking to see souls saved before it is too late but instead we are worldly and carnal, living like we do not believe the Lord is coming back.
The Bible tells us that there will be perilous times before the day of the Lord comes. All we have to do is open our eyes to see this is happening everywhere. 2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Look around you at the way there is no respect for authority of any kind. Nothing matters but self. Look at all of the descriptions given by the word of God in the verses above and you cannot deny that peoples hearts everywhere are turned after these things.
They do not want to hear the word of God because they love the works of the flesh so much that they are willing to go to hell knowing the scriptures. The Bible tells us that there will be a falling away first, before the day of the Lord. 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Our churches have become places where social ills are discussed and Aerobics are the main reason for meeting during the week. There are many churches where you will not even hear the Gospel preached. They truly are social centers. This is why so-called ministers marry sodomites and defy God’s word. The penalty of sin is not preached and a social religion in emphasized. Repentance is not heard from the pulpits. The redeeming blood of Jesus is unheard of. People are lost and dying and going to hell from church pews.
Jer 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
