The news has been swarmed by the death of the Pope. I am not a Catholic and I completely disagree with the teachings of Catholicism. The best thing therefore is to remain quiet and let it pass. It is not good to attack anyone in their grief. I know there is no other name [Other than Jesus Christ] under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
- Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
- Act 4:11 This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
- Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
I know Mary is blessed among women but it is useless to pray to her.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I know there is no intermediate place of punishment where a person can be prayed out of place known as purgatory.
Luk 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
- Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
- Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
- Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
- Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
- Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
It does not say anything about a place called purgatory giving up the dead in it.
I know I am already a saint through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
There are 61 references to saints in the New Testament and they all refer to Christians, not a special group of self righteous people.
I know I have authority to go boldly before the throne of God through this same powerful atoning blood without going to or through any other man but my High Priest who is Jesus Christ.
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
- Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
I know I am now a son of God because I have been adopted into God’s family by this same blood.
- Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
- Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
- Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
- Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
- Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
I know my sins are cast as far as the East is from the West, never to be remembered again by the power of this same shed blood.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
I know death has no claim on me and I have eternal life through this same shed blood.
Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
I know I have the power to live for Jesus, separated from the world by and through the power in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
- Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
I know my advocate, intercessor and High Priest is not a man but the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Isa 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
I know I am accepted by God; not having my own righteousness which is like filthy rags before God but a righteousness freely given out of love because I accepted the free pardon of sin which is by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
- Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
- Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
- Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
- Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
- Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
I thank God for this immeasurable gift of love. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ that his love was more than a religious façade or a feeling. I thank God I am not trusting a religion but the Son of God, my Savior. His love is an eternal commitment whose blood can and will wash away all sin. Call upon him while he is near. He is waiting to hear from you today.
