What is it about Christian conservatives and the liberal left that makes it impossible for them to come together in any unified stand?

  • Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Liberals have no problem changing what does not suit them. This is why they are called revisionist. When it suits their purposes they change history. They also try to do this with God’s word. The problem comes in because God tell us, “I change not”. The Bible has a message and it is irrevocably unchangeable. It is a message about love. An unchangeable message about an inexhaustible love. This is not a fleshly love as the hippies of the 60’s thought. This love is not defined by man or men’s religions. The love of God was revealed to men in God’s chosen vessel. This love is a thrice holy (Isa. 6:3), righteous love. God’s love is revealed to us in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son.

1Jo 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1Jo 4:3  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

What the liberal does not understand is that God’s love is encased in his own nature, his own holiness. There had to be a way found to satisfy God’s holy nature and  yet in that thrice holy nature reveal the magnificent abounding love of God to mankind. How is God’s love reconciled with God’s holiness? The answer to this all important question is answered and revealed in the gospel (good news) of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

The next thing that has to be settled is to define what a Christian is. A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. The first Christians were called “Christians” at a place called Antioch because people saw the teachings of this man called Jesus Christ reflected in their lives.

Act 11:26b . . . . . And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

This was reflected in many ways. among them were:

     1. They publicly and unashamedly placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Rom 5:5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

     2. This trust was reflected in the way they lived, talked and worshipped.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. :2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

     3. Their faith was manifested in the way they witnessed

Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: :20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

     4. Their faith was reflected in the way they would follow their faith even to the death for Jesus Christ.

Rev 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. :11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved noBibles8 copyt their lives unto the death.

This faith was so evident in their lives that outsiders could see the change in their lives and referred to them by the name of the one they followed, Christians (Christ like).

The next thing that has to be settled is that the Bible is infallible (indisputable, without error). We must accept the Bibles own declaration that it is the infallible word of God and that God is true and every contradiction to God is a lie. If God could not give a true account to man of his word, He would not be God. Some might say that men make mistakes. They do not when they are directed by the Spirit of God.

2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: :20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. :21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Rom 3:3  For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? :4  God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

There have been many people who have published a lot of different kinds of Bibles. Some of these Bibles change God’s word to say what these liberal translators want them to say (this is called a paraphrase). These paraphrasers virtually ignore or change what ancient manuscripts say about God’s word to say what these liberal translators want them to say. Some ancient text’s were deliberately written to bring doubt on God’s word by Gnostics. The reason given most of the time for retranslating the Bible is so it will be easier to understand. Making dozens of translations will not help someone understand Gods word. It takes the Spirit of God himself to open the scriptures to a persons understanding.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. :15  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. :16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

No other authority or opinion rises above the Bible. It is God’s word and He never changes. If God does not change from time past to future time inconceivable, his word does not change just because societies do.

Mal 3:6a For I am the LORD, I change not;

I prefer the KJV for the poetry it reveals. The NASB is a true translation but it loses the poetry so evident in the KJV. Believing God’s word is infallible in itself is in direct opposition to left wing liberal thought. They believe that if you use the Bible you should only take some things and ignore the rest. My question would be “What do you keep and what do you throw away”? God’s word tells us:

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

They would answer that easily. They would say to keep what makes you feel good about yourself or that their Bible does not say that. Remember though, a lot of these “Bibles” are not Bibles, even by their authors own admission. The “Living Bible” is an example. They are his interpretation of what the verses say in his opinion. When his views differed from the translators, he went with his views. This is typical of liberal thought though. They believe that man is his own authority and man is supreme in himself and does not answer to any higher power. God’s word tells us:

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

They believe man is not a fallen creature and in need of salvation. Yet again, God’s word tells us:

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

How can a man who is a sinner tell another sinner how to gain salvation? This knowledge had to come from one who is sinless (Jesus Christ). Those lefties who do believe there is a higher power believe this power is manifested in many ways to many peoples. This also is in direct opposition to the Bible as will be seen below.

Left wing liberals are quick to accept other religions because virtually every religion on earth except Christianity has a way that man can work out and achieve his own salvation. The Word of God tells us:

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. :11  This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. :12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Their teaching allows for a belief that there is good in man and that man can cultivate this good. The Bible teaches that there is no good in man, we all die and it is sin that brought us to death.

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Man can not do anything in himself to gain salvation. The religions that teach that you can work your way to God’s favor are deceiving their followers. The Bible teaches that salvation has to come from God only. It is a free gift and cannot be earned by any work of man.

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: :9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This gift is given freely by God if certain conditions are met. The condition is to believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son and in that belief unashamedly put the trust of your soul in what Jesus Christ did on Calvary’s cross as a payment for your sin and accept Jesus Christ into your heart where He will change you to be what you cannot make yourself.

Act 16:31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; :9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. :10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You might now ask, how does this save me? Since the Bible tells us that everyone is a sinner and God is holy, something had to be done to put away the sin. This is what Jesus Christ did on the cross. He became our scapegoat. Our sins were placed on him so we could stand before God, not in our sin, but in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. :21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

What does asking Jesus Christ into my heart do for me that makes it so necessary?

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. :4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? :5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. :6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. :7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Joh 5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. :40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. :48 I am that bread of life.

The Bible teaches us that when Jesus Christ died at Calvary He was sinless and was not under the penalty of original sin. He was not under the penalty of death. He died freely out of love for us and shed his blood for us. Speaking of his life Jesus said:

Joh 10:18  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

This blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat in heaven itself as an atonement for our sins. It is his blood that makes us accepted before God.

Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

It is his blood that can change us. Many people spend their lives searching for fulfillment or trying to change themselves because they know they have a moral need that they cannot fill. People walk from moral failure to moral failure without God.

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The Bible teaches that you must believe Jesus Christ took your place personally to die in your place. According to the Bible, this is a finished work. Nothing else is needed or required by God for man to gain heaven when you die in this life.

Joh 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: :25  Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; :26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. :27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: :28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The Bible teaches us that if we ask Jesus Christ to save us, we become a new creation. The old nature is still there as long as we are in this body, but there is a new nature, the nature of Christ Jesus that we have, not in this life only but throuhout all eternity.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. :18  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

When we become Chrisitans, we should live for Jesus, living holy in this life. We should give control of our lives to the new nature of Christ, who lives through us.

These teachings torque a left wing liberal into fits of rage.

Furthermore, left wing liberals believe in abortion, accepting homosexuality as a viable lifestyle, and sexual licentiousness as ideals that must be accepted socially. This is again in direct opposition to the Bibles teachings. God’s word tells us:

2Ti 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, :3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, :4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; :5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, :20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, :21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. :22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, :23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. :24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. :25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The Bible teaches that when you become a Christian, God’s Holy Spirit will lead you away from these sins of the flesh. This is not to say that a Christian cannot fall into a sin. The Bible does teach that God will “convict” a Christian of sin that gets in their life and lead them away from it.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. :14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you

The Bible teaches that sin should never be accepted socially by Christians. This is completely contrary to left wing liberal thought. America was founded on Christian principles and Judea/Christian law. For us to accept socially what is contrary to God’s word as a way of life is to deny God himself. The Constitution of The United States does not teach separation of Church and State. This is a left wing attempt to get rid of Christianity in America. The only thing the Constitution says is that “Congress shall make no law establishing religion”. In other words, Congress cannot establish a state religion by law. Socially, Christians cannot accept the ungodliness and sinful ways that are encroaching like a storm on our nation.

2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? :15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? :16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. :17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. :18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

These left wing liberals who do not want to hear God’s word or see anything that reminds them of God are doing so because the Spirit of God burns into them with conviction of their sin and they cannot stand it.

Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: :9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; :10  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; :11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

For everyone who trust in Jesus Christ for their salvation, he promised He would come again and take us with him as soon as He gets our eternal residence prepared. This hope is strong in Christians. It is this hope that strengthens a Christian in this life as they see that day approaching.

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. :2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. :3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

For those who rejects God’s gift of perfect love there is no salvation. It is not God who unmercifully determines this. Sin is what left man floundering on the vast ocean of hopelessness. You see, Jesus Christ is like a life raft on that raging sea. If you ignore the life raft, you will suffer the destruction of the storm. God’s judgment on sin is that storm but through his abounding love, God provided a life raft, a deliverance from the storm. If you reject Gods gift, what is left but judgment on your works (sin) which God has already said are not sufficient (Eph. 2:9). It does not matter if we do not believe. We all have been warned.

Rev 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. :11  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. :12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. :13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. :14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. :15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

These are by no means the only differences between left wing liberals and Christian conservatives. It does suffice to show why there will never be any middle ground where the two may meet in a spirit of unity. There is only one thing left to say to complete this article of the differences between left wing liberals and Christian conservatives. Gods word says it best when Joshua was giving his final charge to the nation of Israel:

Jos 24:15  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

This does not mean that Christians should put on a white robe and sit on a hill waiting for the second coming of Christ. Christians have to eat, work, and live in this world. We are supposed to live before men so they can see Christ in us and know by the way we live that we are “Christians”.

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. :15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. :16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

God bless you and if you have read this article and do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, give your heart and life to him today. He is truly the best friend you could possibly ever have.

Pro 18:24  A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
